Simply Print

Over the past three years, we as Simply Print, have learned and experienced a lot. You don’t get a handy-dandy guidebook when you start your own small business, so we were taught by trial and error, especially so in those first two years. Last year, it seemed like we finally hit our stride, and even though one of us moved away, we made it work because we had to, Simply Print is our baby.

We locked down on some amazing clients that relied on our constant work ethic. With that influx of steady work (and steady paychecks) we kind of lost sight of why we started Simply Print for ourselves. We originally longed for the flexibility to create things we wanted to create along with client work. But instead we found ourselves putting the work that pays the bills ahead of our creative endeavors. We were lead to believe that working constantly meant that we made it, that we accomplished a goal for a small business. We worked odd hours (early mornings, late into the nights) and even on weekends and holidays.

We admit that at first, it did feel really good to be working all the time but from springtime to beginning of winter, we were “on call” for work. Hence why you heard from us very sparingly, we were hustling and bustling. During the holiday break we were able to rest and reflect on our best year yet. However, being burnt out from all that work, we came to conclusion that we lost that creativity and inspiration we once had an abundance of in the beginning.

So we made a unanimous decision to MAKE time for creativity in 2019, to have those creative juices flow in our bodies again. It may be hard when it’s crunch time, or when there are a lot of projects to juggle at once, but to look forward to working towards our own endeavors will make it worth it. Without sounding too “New Years Resolution”-y, this year we want to put ourselves out more. Not only because we don’t want you thinking we fell off the face of the Earth, but to hold ourselves accountable for our own happiness, our own definition of success. We got a lot going on planned for 2019, so thank you for sticking with us during our “year of online absence.” We’re excited to share what’s going on in the coming months!

♥,
Megan & Tammy

Happy Friday everyone! Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month? Much more importantly, did you know that today marks our 2-year anniversary? I'm totally celebrating by eating some ice cream (more specifically, Wanderlust Creamery's Ube Malted Crunch) since I'm back in Los Angeles, dudes! But only for this weekend because today, Lady Boss, Megan, will be attending San Diego Comic Con with her neon green Bob's Burgers backpack in tow, and we still have a business to run. If you want to spot her on Friday, she'll be rocking a pink unicorn skater dress with her Star Wars Planet Hoth Vans, and on Saturday she'll be sporting her Team Buffy (the Vampire Slayer) tank. I wish we could celebrate this milestone together, but we'll both be observing today by doing things we love, (I love eating ice cream and Megan loves seeing MBMBaM live). It's been a crazy good couple of months as we acquire more amazing clients and learn how to work apart from each other, but we both wouldn't trade it for any other job out there!

Annnnnnd we're back! Not that we left, but we have been scary good at keeping quiet here on the blog. We didn't choose to be quiet, our work got in the way (very good thing though). Another reason for our silence (we know, excuses are rude), I got married and relocated to Sacramento this year. Now, eight months after our last entry, we have finally settled down, gotten into the groove of working on opposite poles of California, and here we are with much for you to catch up on. So please stay tuned, a lot of new work coming your way soon!

We've been slowly building our Etsy shop, but we finally feel like we got our niché on printed products, which now includes canvas tote bags! With the upcoming holiday season, along with the return of Gilmore Girls on Netflix (have you marked your calendar for November 25?), what better way to launch our new line of products than with a good ol' fashioned giveaway!

You can enter this giveaway either through our Facebook or our Instagram, details on how to enter are below. The winner will be chosen at random next Friday, November 4th, so get to it! There will be two more Gilmore Girls tote giveaways after this, or you can go ahead and snag your own tote in time for the premiere at our Etsy shop!

Facebook - Just "like" our page (here) and tag a friend in the comments section of that post.
Instagram - Be sure to follow @simplyprintla and tag a friend in the comments (here). You may also re-gram the picture for one additional entry. Good Luck!

Happy Birthday to us! Today, July 21st marks one year since we opened Simply Print for business. We've been holding our breath for this day, and now we can finally celebrate! A lot has happened in this single year: grew our clientele base, extended our Etsy paper products line to Redbubble (and are surprisingly selling quite a bit in the UK), sadly said our good-byes to a founding member of the girl team and moved into our fancy workspace. Some more good news for you, we'll keep this celebration going all month long by having all orders 10% off! So scoot your butt on over to our Promotions page for more information.

A month into the new year, how is everyone liking 2016? Just a few weeks ago, Megan and I stumbled upon some office space in Pasadena and like sharks we jumped at it. We slowly have been putting our homey touches on it and we even plan on placing a huge decal of our logo on one wall. But we simply can't contain our excitement of showing you the space.
